Vacancies

An invitation to make a difference in our community
To be effective it is vital that the Parish Council has the councillors it needs to do their work for our community. With five councillors currently on the Parish Council there are currently three councillor vacancies to fill.
The Council wishes to fill these positions by means of co-option; this is a simple process by which parishioners can apply to join the Parish Council without having to stand at a parish election.
The Council would welcome applications from people of all ages, backgrounds, experiences and abilities; ideally you should be able to communicate well, to be able to understand how a parish council works, and to be a team player. Also, candidates must have been qualified to vote at the recent parish election.
Each candidate will be invited to a short interview with two or three councillors; this is an informal affair to enable the councillors to get to know each candidate and for the candidate to ask any questions they may wish to put to the current councillors. To put candidates at ease the interviews will not be undertaken in a public forum. After all candidates have been interviewed a vote will be taken by the three councillors at the following meeting of the Parish Council to select, in their opinion, the five most suitable candidates, though the councillors are not obliged to fill all five of the available positions.
